GMAT score is one of the main criterion to give the admission in many of the best business schools of world. GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is 3.5 hour exam. This test is conducted to evaluate that how the candidate is going to perform during the management program. Candidate can give the test of GMAT anytime in year. One has to choose his own date and time for taking the GMAT. Test can be given Monday to Friday, twice a day. Regisring 15 days in advance is compulsory. The test takes about four hours to get completed.
The test has three distinct sections : Analytical Writing Ability (AWA), Quantitative, and Verbal. The Quantitative section has two types of questions, Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency, mingled throughout the section. The Verbal Section has three types : Sentence Correction, Critical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension; here too, the questions of each type appear in no set sequence. There are a total of 78 questions, 37 in Quantitative (Including 9 Experimental Questions) and 41 in Verbal.
Score of GMAT
The GMAT score is for a total of 800. The score is based on a combination of the Quantitative and Verbal sections and will be in a range of 200-800.
The score of GMAT is not the only factor for admission in any business school, it is an important factor which business schools keep in mind. According to the score in GMAT business schools consider you for admission in addition of other tests, personal interviews, academic qualifications, experience etc. So don’t take the GMAT test too lightly.
hese scores are rarely the sole determining factor for admission, but
don't take them too lightly, either. A good GMAT score does not necessarily
help one get admission, but a poor one can more often than not mar one’s
chances of selection in a good B- school. At top schools, one competes
against people with very high scores, and many of them don't get in. So
should aim to get a GMAT score within 50 points of a school's average.
Fees for GMAT
GMAT registration fees is US $250. Resheduling fees is US $50. You will
get US $ 80 refunded if you cancel you exam 7 days before the scheduled
date. US$28 is the GMAT Additional Score Report Fee.
GMATtm, acronym for Graduate Management Admission Test, is the registered trademark of Graduate Management Admission Council, and is a standard requirement for admission to Graduate Business Schools and to all M.B.A. degree programs . Effective January 2007, GMAT will be developed and administered by a new Vendor, PEARSON VUE & ACT, Inc., and the current Vendor, ETS (Educational Testing Service) will no longer be associated with the GMAT test. This change in GMAT vendor does not, however, affect GMAT test-takers who plan to take the GMAT during the rest of this calendar year 2005. The GMAT test Score is one of several critical factors used by the Graduate Schools of Business in their admission decision, and a GMAT test score that corresponds to a percentile ranking of 85% to 90% is a must for your application to be seriously considered by the Admission Committee evaluating the applications for admission an M.B.A. degree program. The GMAT test is administered in a CAT format in which the GMAT test 'adapts' the difficulty level of the GMAT to your 'comfort level'. The GMAT is about your ability to do Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning, and to deal with the 'specifics' of the information presented to you, and about your ability to make 'logical interpretation' of the conceptual and other evidence presented to you. In short, the GMAT test is about your ability to make decisions with 'logical certainty'. The GMAT in its adaptive format does not allow you to skip GMAT test questions or to go back and rework the GMAT problems you have already answered. What does this mean for you, the poor GMAT test-taker? It means that you must be the best you can be on the day of the GMAT test, and must have the correct GMAT conceptual understanding, strategies, and practice in order to competently and confidently take the GMAT test in a timed-environment and in the HIGH difficulty level of the GMAT. Your best chance for a great GMAT test Score lies in your ability to take the GMAT at a HIGH difficulty level throughout. You cannot find a better ally in your endeavor toward this demanding goal and in your mission to pursue M.B.A. program than our goal-driven and skill-enhancing GMAT Study Guides for 700+ GMAT test Score.
